The Resort 2012 Collection from French designer Theirry Mugler ushers in a new abundance of bright green hues, fire red appliques and chic ivory variations. The clean lines of the cropped ultra skinny pants and fitted long sleeve tops, slightly reminiscent of a wetsuit of some sort, perfectly contrast the jagged edge designs printed onto the mini dresses. Who knew that a monochromatic set could be so surprisingly fabulous despite the presence of unneeded extras.
The slick tailoring of the different pieces puts a contemporary flair on the classic 2 piece suit, pencil skirt and mini dress. The traditional pieces are also joined by spectacular tulip-like skirts that have an ‘inside out’ feel to them, but the messiness works and still maintains the clean cut feeling of the collection. An alternative to many of the flowing designs being seen in other Resort 2012 collections, the lines and tailoring of the designer who first put Lady Gaga on the runway that loyal to their timeless design, but still look wonderfully updated and fresh.
