Let’s just say that whatever Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet was thinking of when she designed this year’s Resort 2012 collection is on my ‘must visit very soon list.’ The bright colors of the maxis and platforms make me giddy as I scroll through the lookbook, dying over the color blocking. This is what a resort collection should be, playful and perfect for that sporadic summer getaway right out of the pages of a Vogue editorial spread. It’s not just the combination of floor-length and flirty dresses and skirts but it is also the knockout shoes that put these outfits over the top. Bendet herself tells the truth when she said, “they are just like little pops of candy.” This entire collection is fabulously ripped straight off a shelf of a candy store, with bubblegum pinks, lemon drop yellows, giving us the ability to wear the rainbow, instead of taste it.
