Ponytail Inspiration in Vogue Brazil

Gisele’s hairstyle in this month’s Vogue Brazil is one that inspires a revival of the ponytail. Often a hairstyle reverted to when you’re about to work out, or when you hair is dirty. The ponytail has lost some of the ‘oomph’ and the supermodel’s look is just what it needs to make a full comeback. Accessorized with a gold cuff, this ponytail is anything but boring, and totally wearable for those of us looking to mix up our routine without compromising the sex appeal.

The ponytail has increasingly been replaced by the ever-popular high bun, a look that while easy and chic, can’t replace the carefree, flowing feeling of it’s close relative the ponytail making a slow but steady comeback on both runways and sidewalks worldwide. I think a common hair error that many of fall into, is that we forget a ponytail is a perfectly acceptable ‘do to wear out and about. Many of us spend countless hours a week doing our hair, making sure our locks fall in the perfect way to frame our face. But this forgotten hairstyle is one that can be flattering on all face shapes, and not to mention cut down on the time it takes to get ready in the morning.

Try pulling your hair back in a sleek ponytail like Gisele’s and topping it off with a bold hair accessory, whether it be a cuff like this, or by simply wrapping a strand of hair to hid the hairband and add an instant hint of fabulous. This look is perfect whether you’re going out to a bar at night, or running to class. It goes with just about any outfit and keeps the hair of your face all day. Experiment with the placement of the ponytail to find the best height for you, some may like it high like Gisele’s, and others may like it a little lower for a less extreme version. Just make sure you use a tight hairband and clip back or spray all stray pieces to keep those fly-aways in place.
