Designer Phoebe Philo has hit a stylistic home run with the CelineResort 2012 collection. As Nicole Phelps from Style.com puts it, “The thing is, in her hands nothing is ever basic: bold, or maybe even brave, is more like it.” And I don’t think anyone could say it better. The boldness that comes from this collection is amazing, yet still amazingly wearable.
Model Monica Sawicka wears each and every design with an amazing elegance, yet also a fun edgy twist. The fluid lines of the suits and skirts create the perfect translation of the male trends into chic feminine looks perfect for the city-dwelling woman looking to mix it up a bit. The prints are perfect for this season, and I don’t think I have ever seen white on white look so good. And can we just talk about the shoes? The white platforms are actually perfect, and just put that extra ‘oomph’ into all the looks.
Needless to say this was one of my favorite Resort collections of 2012 simply do to the fact that it did not try to do to much. The pieces of this collection do the right about of classic and trendy, with unexpected but exciting splashes of bright colors and the best kind of print and texture mixing.
