Sylvie Markovina SS11-12 Collection

Based in Sydney, up and coming designer Sylvie Markovina’s Spring Summer Lookbook is full of geometric gold pieces of jewellery perfection. A graduate from the University of NSW-College of Fine Arts in 2010, she is making a splash on the scene with her bold new pieces. This ‘Future Empire’ collection, inspired by African tribal imagery, sculpture, 1920s Paris, Man Ray and the Surrealist movement, combines the eclectic collection of movements into a new fresh design aesthetic that will perfectly top off a wardrobe.

This collection pulls together different trends that have been appearing on runways in the past few seasons, and creates a hybrid suitable for a new category of classic. Between the harsh right angles, raw cut natural stones and antique shapes the cuffs earrings and necklaces present a unique style appealing to those craving something different. With pendents perfect for layering and double finger rings that would add the edge to even the most feminine ruffles, this is THE designer to watch in the coming seasons because these versatile solo collections are bound to gain popularity, and it’s always better to be ahead of the curve.
