Karl Lagerfeld has done it again with a show stopping collection of glamour in the Chanel Couture Fall 2011 collection. The variety of looks encompassed many notorious Chanel styles, from the tweed suit to long silhouetted gown in a 69 piece showcase. The darkness of the shadows around the set only make the looks pop even more off the runway, or in this case full production stage set.
Lagerfeld successfully toyed with creating prints with embellishments, perfectly complementing the abstract stripes and bold tweeds seen throughout the collection. Also worked into polka dotsand ruffles, the more playful side of the collection peaks out every few looks with sheer brilliance. While blacks, grays and blues permeated the show, a vivid magenta and crisp white make a few notable appearances to mix things up a bit. The classic mermaid shape in both the gowns and tweed jackets lends an elegant feel to the updated traditional looks.
Can we also talk about the fabulous lace eye piece the models are wearing? Taking the makeup to the next level, the black strip only adds to the luxurious mystery of the collection presentation.
